About this Visa:
- This is a 4 years 3 months provisional residence visa;
- Allows you to come to Australia with your family;
- Start a new business or purchase an existing business;
- Manage this business for minimum 2 years and then;
- Apply for Permanent Residency (PR) in Australia.
Specific Requirements for 188A:
1. Main Applicant under 55 years of age. Some exceptions;
2. Minimum 30% ownership in business;
3. Main management role in the business;
4. Annual turnover of at least AUD 500,000 for 2 years in recent 4 years;
5. Net min personal and business asset to be AUD 800,000 ;
6. MUST Score at least 65 points on the Innovation Points test.

How to be PR in Australia?
1. You or spouse must stay in Australia at least 1 year in 2 years just before you apply for PR;
2. Invest min AUD 600,000 in total (Min AUD 200,000 in Business and Min AUD 400,000 in Land or Property);
3. Manage business for 2 years in Australia;
4. Make turnover of AUD 300,000 in the second year
5. You may employ 2 Australian PR or Citizen staff in 2nd year of business (Optional)
6. Have genuine and realistic commitment to stay in Australia.
7. Have followed Australian Law.
8. Meet health and character requirements
If you can’t fulfil the requirements, you can apply for maximum 2 years extension. 2 years extension can be applied only in 4th year of your current 188A visa.
How much does it cost to apply?
Main applicant application fee is AUD 5,375
Any Family members over 18 years of age is AUD 2,685
Any Family members under 18 years of age is AUD 1,345
If main applicant or any family member over 18 years of age have less than functional
English, there is additional fee (Second Instalment) applies:
The Second Instalment charge for Main Applicant is AUD 9,795
The Second Instalment charge for over 18 any family member is AUD 4,890
